The sitting plenary of the Akwa Ibom state house of Assembly on Tuesday 25th February 2020 reportedly end in serious fiasco follow the action of the legislators demanding the speaker Mr Aniekan Bassey for their sitting Allowance bedded over 6 months
Our source an insider of the state Assembly whose name will not be mention here for security reasons reveals that some of the state lawmakers even boycotted the plenary session saying that the governor Mr UDOM Emmanuel is playing politics with the sitting Allowance of Assembly members.
Our source who nickname the current Assemblymen as senior councillors said some of the legislators who attended the plenary allegedly walk out on the speaker after challenging him to pay them at least #100,000 to fuel their vehicles and pockets money but all efforts proved abortive.
He said the previous Government headed by the incumbent minister of Niger Delta distinguished senator Godswill Akpabio did not manhandle the lawmakers and that Akpabio treated the members of the lower chamber with total respect financially and otherwise.
It was suggested that the plenary may not sit next week if the governor failed to pay their sitting Allowance and salaries.
