THE POTENCY OF GOD’S WORD AND PRAYERS FOILED THE ATTEMPTED BOMBING OF WINNERS CHAPEL CHURCH IN KADUNA.- BY AMUDA WASIU HASSAN

Despite all the happenings all over the world channeled against the Christian faith, the church of God still grow from strength to strength. Christians have no weapons of mass destruction, pose no physical threat to the world yet they have always been the target of many organisations and religious bodies.
Psalms 46:1-11
As much as God is committed to keeping us from the operation of the wicked one, he is also faithful to protect His people from attack. No matter how brutal they treat Christians today, God will never stop to protect us in our ways when we are in line with His will.
On the day Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) led its members across the country to protest against incessant killings and security in the country, a 30-year-old man was caught with what is suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Sabon Tasha branch of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel in Kaduna. The Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the parish stated that the suspect was monitored on a CCTV camera carrying the bag into the church auditorium.
According to the CSO, simply identified as Edet, the bomber suspect successfully gained access and was already seated before his bag was searched and the explosive device was found. Imagine what level of disaster and bloodshed that would have happened if not for God’s intervention. We should strongly join our hands and lift holy hands to God and intercede for God’s people. We need to keep praying not as denominations but as a corporate body and as a body in Christ.
However, we should not be discouraged in this brutal days and should not stop to focus on God. Brutality is not wickedness. Wickedness is an engagement that stops the flow of God’s life in us. The fear of the brutality of these days may even threaten the people of God to stop to really focus on God for safety and device a natural plan of security.
The Word of God will be the only security in days to come. During the days of the Apostles, the Apostles didn’t mind to go to any part of the world to preach the gospel and were not afraid of what brutality they may face there. The apostles had come to a place where they weren’t just afraid of those that can destroy only the body but really cared about He that is able to destroy both the body and the soul. They have come to a place where they care about death (the flow of God’s life in them).
In essence, no matter what happens around us and to us, we should focus on God and count on him. We should not allow anything to take us to a place where we compromise our faith in Christ, thereby, stopping the flow of God’s life in us. That is the true death. Let us hold our faith strong and continue to learn and embody the knowledge of God and His Son, till we come to the fullness of God, till we are made in his image and likeness.
