It was another moment in Lions club international district 404B4 Nigeria as they installed Lion Adesoji Sokoya as the 43rd President of Doyen Lions club.

In his opening remarks by the investiture Committee chairman Lion Asiwaju Muhammad Ibrahim expressed pleasure to welcome all the important dignitaries, friends, family members and leaders of the club to honouring the invitation of Doyen Lions club to witness the official handing over and investiture of the 43rd President of the organisation.

Lion Ibrahim charge members of the club to remain agent of change, our project should give us a a leg up and touch people lives in a deep and lasting ways. Let us continue grow, young and old in harmony ready to face whatever challenges ahead.

Lion Asiwaju noted that as members from various professions that volunteer to render humanitarian services to our communities, hence the club issued invitation to distinguished members of the society to support the club by donating generously towards the completion of the club massive projects.

He congratulated the Emergence of the new president and called on members of the club to join hands with the new president to move the club forward.

District Governor 404B4 Samson Abodunrin, urged the new officers to uphold the spirit of Lionism and make a meaningful impact in the lives of the poor.

Speaking also the chairman of the occasion Prince Adegoke Adebayo, said he was delighted receiving the invitation to chair the event of this magnitude.

Adebayo who is the CEO Adex oil and gas used the medium to congratulates the new president for his willingness to served and render humanitarian services to salvage the living conditions of many in the society.

 

He said his company will continue to support the club to achieve their goals of reaching out to the people in the larger society.

In his valedictory speech by the outgoing president, Lion Wasiu Onifade said his administration has been on the journey of working inlne with the principles and policies of Lions international club to giving hopes to the poor masses in the society.

Lion Wasiu stressed that the Alanu house and Gbelekale Titun ( lepers colony) Ogbomoso have been the major project of the club over the years.

” there’s no doubt that Alanu house certainly is a project that has helped the University college hospital in the treatment of diseases with the provision of free accommodation” The Gbelekale Titu, at Ogbomoso has provided accommodation for the people with leprosy and the family permit”

He said his administration in the last one year invested to improve on the existing structure and urge that all hand should be on deck to assist the new president in his quest to complete the projects and better the walfare or the inmate of the two projects.

In his speech the district governor Lion Samson Abodunrin PMJF, NLCF who was ably represented by the first vice District governor, Lion Taiwo Fatoki, PMJF, NLCF congratulated the 43rd president and his team, stressing that the position is for the new administration to also remember they need to work extra hard to lay the foundations of service that his successors are going to build on.

The district governor in his message reminded the new president the allegiance pledged on the 19th of August to the deal of the club and charge him to stand on the pledged and work assiduously towards redeeming his promises to the club.

” on the 19th of August 2023 you pledge allegiance to the ideals of lions club international and I charge you to stand true to this. As you carry out service activities mainly being feeding the hungry, diabetes awareness and screening, vision, caring for the environment and pediatric cancer remember to report these activities on mylcid ”

” Be an active part of mission 1.5, encourage every member to bring at least one new quality member. Be an advocate for LCIF and request your club members to subscribe towards MJF and PMJF. Endeavour to ensure that your club participates fully in all district activities at all levels”

” As you are you are raising funds for your core projects of the year ensure that the funds are utilised judiciously”

Governor Abodunrin charge the new administration stay alert and takes responsibility to work extra hard to lay foundations of service that your successors in office are going to build on.

In a good real message by one of the renounce and prominent leaders of the club zone B Chairperson region 9, district 404B4, Chief David Akinwale extolled the determination quality and hospitality of the club towards bearing the many burdens of the society. He prayed for team spirit among members of Sokoya’s led administration.

 

Also speaking speaking as part of goodwill messages another leader of the club Lion Adejoke Victoria Oyeleke reiterated the need for the lions to continue supporting humanity which is the core mandate of the organisation.

Lion Victoria in her goodwill message, shower praises on the achievements of the immediate past administration and hope that the newly installed leadership led by the 43rd President will imitate the footprint of his immediate past predicessor.

Other leaders of the club who poured goodwill messages and congratulated the new president and his team were the president of Akobo integrity lion’s Club Lion Abosede Jumoke Adeboye (watch her speak)

In his acceptance speech, the newly investiture president Lion Adesoji Sokoya, NLCF, RLLI humbly accepted the calling to serve the club and humanity and continued with the team spirit which has already started.

” on behalf of the board of directors and executives of our club, I humbly accept to serve our dear club and humanity, as we continue in the team spirit which we have started with the year mission statement of the club which is team work makes the dream work”

“Ibadan Doyen Lions club has been serving and sharing hope to the needs and under privileged in our society with the building of leper privilege in our society with the building of leper colony at Ogbomoso and Alanu House, opposite University college hospital UCH, Ibadan among other projects, during my year. As a matter of priority, I will endeavour to better the welfare of the inmates of the two projects and also key into centennial projects listed above.

 

Diabetes screening and advocacy as well as blood pressure check up, relieving the hunger, sight preservation, protecting our environment, pediatric cancer, youths empowerment, humanitarian and disaster relief”

The new president Shokoya called for collective support to enable his administration actualize the numerous projects.
