Says he did not fight with Apc leadership, I left Apc for lack of internal democracy

The honourable minister of power Mr. Abdulwaheed Adelabu Adebayo has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo State.

It will be recalled that Mr. Adelabu was the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in 2015 and during the last General elections join the Accord party to further his ambition into the Oyo State Hilltop mansion respectively.

Addressing the leadership of the party at the secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, on Friday, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, said his return to the All Progressives Congress from the Accord Party has no business with 2027, rather to join Oyo State with the centre to enable him attract dividens of democracy to the people.

It will be recalled that Adelabu flagged the APC governorship tickets in 2019 and on May 2022 he joined the Accord Party after failing to secure the governorship ticket of the APC.

The minister, while addressing the leadership of the party at the conference hall of the party secretariat, said that he and others who left the party with him had formally returned to the APC to make the party stronger.

He explained that they had earlier left the party based on principle and not because they had problems with APC in the state or with party members.

The minister said, “I returned not because of 2027 governorship ambition or to take over the party, but because I believe this is a party that brought President Bola Tinubu to power, and we need to support him to deliver on his electoral promises.

” I intentionally did not allow Apc national to dissolved the state exco and that’s why we are here for proper reconciliation. We will set up a harmonisation committee to reconcile all aggrieved party members”

“This is not time for politics; it is time for governance, and Tinubu needs our support for him to succeed and deliver on his Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I have come back to the party not to take over the party and not to dissolve executives; we have come to the party to extend hands of fellowship and reconciliation.

” I did not fight with Apc leadership, I left Apc for lack of internal democracy”

We are assuring you that we are back for cooperation and collaboration for us to build a strong party so that the party will take over power in the state at the end of the day in 2027.”

In his remarks, APC chairman in the state, Isaac Omodewu, who was represented by the party’s secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanike, said that the party is open for reconciliation and ready to listen to all aggrieved members to build a stronger party.

Other decampees include, Maggie Oloyode, Kolapo kola Daisi, Rotimi Otunba Ajanaku, Abass Aleshintoye, former Oyo State ALGON chairman, Aassan Ging and thousands of others.

Also speaking, a former deputy governor, Moses Adeyemo, said that the party needs peace and unity of all members for progress.
