A Human Rights group, Amnesty International has called on the Nigerian Army to exercise restraint and stop the wanton killing in Obigbo.
The was made known by the group via its verified Twitter handle.
Recall that there’s an ongoing genocide in Obigbo local government Area of Rivers State by the Nigerian military allegedly ordered by Governor Nyesom Wike, which so far continues to receive condemnation over the developing incident.
In a statement by the International Rights Group, it expressed concerns about the disturbing reports it received of the Nigerian military invading private homes and also dead bodies of civilians on the street allegedly shot by soldiers.
“Amnesty International is receiving disturbing information from Oyigbo, Rivers state.
“Despite the existing curfew, soldiers are allegedly invading homes.
“Some residents reported seeing dead bodies on the street, allegedly shot by soldiers. #Oyigbo #Rivers”

Residents of the city have been deserting their homes en mass in order to avoid being killed either by stray bullets or summary execution by the rampaging army.
According to ElombahNews who spoke to a source in Rivers state government House undercover reporter this night said, the governor is under serious pressure to call off the soldiers from Oyigbo and also relax the curfew.
Yes, a lot of damage has been done in Oyigbo. Even the governor is so worried that the soldiers are not working in line with the rule of engagement, the source said.
