The Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has suspended its ongoing industrial action and directed all public primary school teachers across the state to immediately resume academic activities.
The decision followed deliberations by the leadership of the union after reviewing issues surrounding the strike action. Consequently, teachers have been instructed to return to their duty posts and continue teaching while the union continues engagement with the relevant authorities on outstanding concerns.
With the suspension of the strike, public primary schools across Oyo State are expected to reopen, allowing pupils to return to their classrooms and resume normal academic activities.
The union appreciated teachers for their patience, solidarity, and commitment throughout the period of the industrial action, assuring members that it remains committed to protecting their welfare and ensuring that their interests are adequately represented.
Parents and guardians have also been advised to ensure that their children return to school as academic activities resume across public primary schools in the state.
