PDP asks APC to come clean on reported links to bandit attacks

By Simdi Gloria:-

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has attacked the All Progressives Congress accusing it of having links with bandits and terrorists going by recent revelations trailing the kidnapping and rescue of the 344 kankara students. It said it has further exposed the party as having connections with bandits, kidnappers, gunmen, insurgents, and terrorists currently ravaging the entire country.

The opposition party said, our nation can no longer cope with the daily kidnappings and wanton killing of innocent Nigerians by outlaws who have been emboldened by the favourable treatment they were receiving from the government of the day.

It condemns the ruling party who it claims has been acting as the mouthpiece of bandits. They rationalising killings and kidnapping, and even express sympathy to terrorists, without outrightly condemning the cruel acts of terrorism. Instead, the APC attacks any person or groups that criticise the activities of these bandits.

The PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, claimed that Thursday’s statement by the Governor Mai Buni-led APC leadership condemning genuine protest by Nigerian women and youths in Abuja further portrayed APC as a party that has vested interest in the proceeds of these reprehensible enterprises.

The statement titled, “PDP To APC: Rein In Your Bandits Now,” signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in Abuja, on Monday.

It reads in part, “The PDP has asked the APC to immediately rein in its ‘bandits’ as our nation can no longer cope with the daily marauding, kidnapping and wanton killings by these outlaws.

“The APC further betrayed its complicity by always evading demands by Nigerians to explain the whereabouts of the bandits it imported as political mercenaries to unleash violence and help it muscle the 2019 general election.

“Moreover, the APC had further betrayed its links through its manifest show of sympathy to terrorists and bandits, failure to promptly and forcefully condemn their activities as well as its attack on anybody, who condemn acts of terrorism or demand for the release of abductees.”

A response from the APC to the allegations was still being awaited at the time of filing this report.
