The State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State has confirmed that Troops attached to Nigerian Army have prevented an attack by bandits in Sabon Birni community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Aruwan said the planned attack was prevented from taking place based on information provided by the military.
He appreciated the effort of the military for stopping the attack which would have been carried out by bandits on Saturday night.
Residents of Sabon Birni have experienced a series of attacks from bandits lately, it was gathered that no fewer than 11 persons were killed just this past week. So they are still living in fear despite the troops’ intervention.
The Commissioner, therefore, called for cooperation and support for both the troops and other security agencies working together for the sole aim of combating banditry and kidnapping, saying the war will be won if they all work together.
