#EndSARSProtest: Kenechukwu Okeke Sues Sam Adeyemi, Davido, Falz, and 48 others

Kenechukwu Okeke, a self-acclaimed activist has dragged Folarin Falana (Falz), Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Kanu Nwankwo and others totalling 50 persons to Chief’s Magistrate court in Abuja and initiated criminal proceedings against them for allegedly promoting the “EndSARS riots.
He made this known via a tweet on Tuesday. Some of the names included in the suit are the Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Aisha Yesufu, Bureau for Public Sector Reform, Dr. Joe Abah; investigative reporter, Kiki Mordi, Folarin Falana (Falz) and others.
Okeke is claiming that the defendants In his allegation influenced the violent turnout of the protest which led to the destruction of his property.

He stated in his complaint;
“That 1 to 50 accused persons with intent to carry out some common purpose, assemble in such a manner, Or, being assembled under the composition of EndSARS”, as to cause persons in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to fear on reasonable grounds that such assembly needlessly and without any reasonable occasion may provoke other persons tumultuously to disturb the peace.
a. Properties (movable) belonging to the complainant was egregiously destroyed by some riotous and tumultuous person (s) instigated and incited by the 1 to 50″ accused persons.”


Recall that Nigerian youths went on a rampage to demand the disbandment of a police rogue unit #SARS. The police unit was accused of harassment, intimidation, outright killing and extortion of the youths.
The federal government heeded the cry of youths and disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad. However, it has been replaced with the Special Weapons And Tactical Team (SWAT).
After the Disbandment of SARS, the Nigerian youths continued with the protest seeking for government to start acting on the five points it submitted as its demand.
But, the protest was hijacked by hoodlums who unleashed mayhem on public and private properties, causing sorrow and tears.
The Buhari led administration on his part had said that while protest is a fundamental right, the activities of hoodlums must be dealt with.
Meanwhile, there has been a clampdown on the promoters of the #EndSARS protest by the Government.
