Newsie Events:-
Over 15 cars were set on fire at the Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja on Monday amid the ongoing #EndSARS protests.
According to The Whistler Newpaper’s correspondent who visited the scene, said that some car dealers are accusing the northern youths known as “Aboki” of perpetrating the dastardly act.
About 15 cars were burnt beyond recognition while 14 cars were badly vandalized.
According to Azeez Adisa, a car dealer who witnessed the onslaught, and lost vehicles worth millions of naira, said the hoodlums were “Aboki boys” and they suddenly appeared and started destroying cars with harmful tools before setting them ablaze.
He said they first chased all the dealers away before spraying petrol on the vehicles.
Adiza said, “Police were at that junction. They didn’t come near the place. They stayed just there (pointing at the Kabusa Junction, Apo) with two Hilux. They were there for almost one hour while hoodlums injured scores of people”.
Adisa sadly said he was now in a financial crisis because a customer had deposited N2million for a Toyota High Lander worth N5million which was among the vandalised cars.
Another witness, Temitope Olushola, pleaded with the federal government to come to their aid and assist all those directed affected by the accident including those in the hospital who sustained injuries.
She said that about 10 persons were injured and are currently at the hospital receiving treatment.
One Uchenna Ngwu told Whistler that hoodlums were operating in Waru and Wumba of Apo this morning and that the places “were no go areas.
