The Jehovah’s Witnesses are a Christian denomination known for their door-to-door preaching, rejection of blood transfusion, and military service which are according to their scriptural based beliefs.
The Law Enforcement agency carried out massive raids across Russia, against the Jehovah’s Witnesses and made some arrests as part of a new criminal case against the group, according to the Investigative Committee in Moscow.
The Jehovah Witnesses were ordered to disband in 2017 by the Russia Supreme Court and some of its adherent have been jailed or hit with criminal charges.
According to the investigative committee, some adherents have met privately in a flat in the North west of Moscow to discuss their religious literature and have converted some Moscow residents.
A number of the group of followers have been identified in more than 20 regions and have been taken into custody.
The Jehovah Witnesses have been under pressure for years in Russia under President Putin Vladimir where the orthodox church is dominant.
