Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State on Sunday said Former Secretary to the Government Of the Federation (SGF) Pius Anyim and other National Assembly members of the state also had the plan to join him in the ruling APC.
The governor made this known on Sunday in the State capital, Abakaliki during an APC stakeholders’ meeting. Umahi said Anyim backed out of the plan because he went to see President Muhammadu Buhari without carrying him along.
He said the former senate president other PDP leaders in Ebonyi was to join him in APC two weeks after he must have successfully defected to the party but their grievance, both Anyim and other National Assembly members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has against him is that he joined the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) before them.
You would recall that the governor officially defected to the APC on November 17.
