Newsie Events Media:

President Muhammadu Buhari’s threat tweet against the Igbo of the South-Eastern part of the country has been deleted by Twitter, the tech giant.

Buhari had on Tuesday after a security briefing about the persistent attacks in the South East targeted at facilities like the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Police Stations, by some unidentified gunmen, threatened to deal those he described as ‘wanting to destroy his government .’

He said ” I receive daily security reports on the attacks on critical national infrastructure, and it is very clear that those behind them want this administration to fail. Whoever wants the destruction of the system will soon have the shock of their lives. We’ve given them enough time.”

The President said that such individuals or groups will receive the shock of their lives as they will be treated in a language they will understand.

However, Nigerians wouldn’t bear any of that as they took to Twitter ro drag the President for making such threats towards a particular tribe.

While some slammed him for pleading with Fulani herdsmen and bandits who have killed and are still killing innocent Nigerians, others slammed him for threatening the South East with another civil war that killed over 3 million Igbos.

They also reported the tweet and also called for the suspension of the President’s account by the management of Twitter.

According to DAILY POST, the complaints were received by the management of Twitter and the comment by the President has been deleted.

It was learnt also that the Nigerian leader may also be locked out of his account for 24 hours and faces a temporary suspension for the offensive tweet.
