Elon Musk 49, Co-founder of Tesla Inc has moved into second place in the global rich list overtaking Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the tech Mogul Elon Musk who is also the Chief executive of Space X added $100bn to his net worth this year to take it up to $127.9bn.
Elon Musk ranked 35th as of January this year in the global rich list.
Bill Gates has held the top spot for years before being bumped by Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder in 2017.
Jeff Bezos remains the richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of $182bn.
Gate’s net worth of $127.7bn would have been huger had he not donated so generously to charity over the years. He has donated more than. $27 billion to his name sake foundation since 2006.
Gate’s foundation has also been one of the most preeminent bodies backing up the covid 19 research as he has injected billions into it.
