Gombe State House Of Assembly Speaker Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim Kurba has been Impeached.
His impeachment proceedings were presided by Deputy Speaker Siddi Buba who represents Kwami West Constituency. He was impeached by 16 out of the 24 members of the House.
A new speaker has been announced since his impeachment. The leader of the House Samuel Marcus representing Pero-Chonge has also been impeached and replaced with Yarima Ladan Gaule of the Kaltungo East constituency.
Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewol has been elected as the new speaker.
Luggerewol was elected 15 members of the Assembly and he has already been sworn in.
The new speaker represents Akko Central Constituency in the Assembly before his election as the new speaker.
