By Chinenye Festus:-

Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom said that the launch of Air peace flight to begin its operations in Markurdi is a welcome development as it will open up the state for foreigners to come and invest.

According to the correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Ortom revealed this on Monday during the acceptance of Air Peace, as their inaugural flight with number P47440 took off from Lagos at 7:00 a.m and landed in Markurdi. The flight was said to be filled to capacity.

“The fear of investors coming by road to invest into the state has been addressed with Air Peace flying into the state three times a week.

” This will push socio-economic development of the state and further provide greater opportunities to the indigenes.

“This will also reduce unemployment in the state. I thank Almighty God for this historic event,” he said.

Mr George Akume, the Minster of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, lauded the governor for attracting the partnership of Air Peace to the state.

“Attempts that had been made to attract commercial air transport into the state had not been successful, but this one that was done by the governor, was a success story.”
