Open letter to Alex Chioma Otti

Dear Alex Otti,
I congratulate you on our victory.
On May 29th, you will be sworn in as people’s elected governor of Abia state. The circumstances of your final emergence as Abia governor after 3 attempts speaks for itself.
The people of Abia have given you their mandate on 3 occasions which 2 among them were stolen but today there is jubilation in the state for Abia has been liberated from bad governance of mama-cracy, son-cracy and godfatherism.
I don’t envy you at all because I know that the task ahead from day one will not be easy. The people of Abia have suffered for too long and their expectation will be very high.
Corruption, decay of institutions and infrastructure, poverty and hunger is abound in the state.
The people of Abia state expects nothing short of a messiah and a magician which you are not because you are human.
The greatest thing you should offer from day one is hope, confidence and purposeful leadership. You must show that you are in command and not a stooge.
The team you plan to work with should reflect credibility, ability and sincerity of purpose. This has been lacking in Abia state for 24 years. Abia state has the highest number of charlatans and people of questionable character around the corridors of government.
Therfore open your eyes and select a team of focused Abia citizens to work with. If your team is right, you are half way to Abia goals. You must reduce the cost of governance by having a reasonable sized cabinet and aides.
Campaign was tough and political enemies were made, you must bring healing to the land by forming an all inclusive government that will be different from Igbere people, Ibeku people and Ngwa people syndrome that ravaged Abia.
The hardest bitting problem in Abia is the non-payment of salaries and pension (you focused on this in your campaign). Please do well to keep your promises on it. The people have suffered and cannot be allowed to continue to suffer.
The level of decay in the health sector as evidenced by the withdrawal of accreditation of the University teaching hospital is evident. The absence of primary health care system, begs for your attention.
We hope and pray that you will be the new dawn and face Abia needs
We will pray and work with you to create an enabling environment for business to thrive in Abia
I look forward to meeting with you in the coming days.
Accept my highest regards and best wishes
