The inauguration of new youth council of ‘Nto Uko’ a royal family in Atai Otoro village, Abak Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State took place on Sunday, 16th May, 2021, at the family secretariat.
According to reports, the election into sensitive positions to constitutes new youth council of the royal home saw the emergence of the popular musician Comrade Edu-Uwem Williams as the new president.
Addressing Journalist after the election the chairman electoral committee Mr Ubong Michael Akpan said the election was conducted in a free, fair and unbiased atmosphere.
He commended the positive characters of the contestants which according to him such good comportment has helped the electoral body to deliver their task.
Mr. Akpan stressed the need for peaceful and credible election to be conducted in the country using the family election as a case study which saw the contestants exchanging pleasantries, embraced and congratulating each other after the election.
He thanked the family head Chief Friday Umonta for entrusting him and other members of the electoral team the responsibility to perform the selection of electing worthy and obedient youths to pilot the family affairs that concern youth matters.
Mr Michael, while filling questions from newsmen called on the newly inaugurated youth executive council to work in one accord, guide against disunity and work towards fencing walls against insecurity that is currently the headache in the country.
In his acceptance speech, the Akwa Ibom popular musician Comrade Edu-Uwem Williams promised to work in accordance with the family rules and regulations.
Comrade Edu-Uwem popular known as Rasta Tear cap as his stage name, said his administration will not tolerate stubbornness against the decision of the family and will ensure virtues is brought to bare, that will give the family a thumbs up at the village council.
He thanked God for the peaceful and credible election that brought him victoriously as the next youth leader in the royal family, he also applauded the competency of the electoral team for their unbiased magnanimity.
He also showered accolades on his teaming supporters for finding him fit to bestowed on him the mandate to lead the family youth in the next couple of years and equally assure to work and carry everyone along.
He solicit for cooperation among members and Executive to enable him deliver his mandates.
