Rep Idem Flags Off Another Round Of Skills Training For His Constituents

Divine Sam:

The Member Representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep Unyime Idem has flagged off another round of training for his constituents in preparation for the 2021 skills empowerment.

Flagging off the 5 day event yesterday at the recently commissioned 1000 seater capacity entrepreneurship centre, Rep Idem charged the second batch of beneficiaries of the 5000 skills empowerment to see it as a life time opportunity to acquire skills training for the future.

Represented by Mr. Clayton Eyeneka, Rep. Idem noted that skills education is the way to go in the 21st century. He said skills offered at the training will prepare beneficiaries to become job and wealth creators as well as contribute to the development of the Federal Constituency. He urged them not to take the training for granted as it has the potential of transforming them into the next generation of business leaders.

Guest Speaker

Addressing the participants, State Director of National Directorate of Employment, Mr Promise Eka, noted that skills empowerment is the way to go given that government cannot provide job for everyone. He said that with skills empowerment, individuals have the capacity to provide for themselves, their dependants and have a secure future. He added that it prepares individuals to be independent, self reliant and be solution providers. He urged the beneficiaries not to take the training for granted but ensure to get all the benefits it will provide.

Recall that in 2019, Rep. Idem flagged of skills training and empowerment of 5000 constituents. The first batch of 1000 beneficiaries were trained and empowered in 2020 in 26 different skills. The next batch of 1500 trainees will be empowered in December 2021.
