#RevolutionNow: Burna Boy reacts as Sowore challenges him to join October 1st Protest

Newsie Events:-
Nigeria’s Grammy-nominated singer and self-acclaimed ‘best’ musician after Fela Kuti, Burna Boy, has berated the convener of the #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore, for asking him to join a protest scheduled for October 1 against policies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, saying he is very afraid of politicians, especially, Nigerian politicians.
Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters had challenged the Grammy-nominated singer to prove that he is a “revolutionary musician” as he’s being described by joining the #RevolutionNow protest scheduled for October 1, 2010, across Nigeria and overseas.
He also questioned the comparison of Burna Boy to Fela when he (Burna Boy) has yet to lead any anti-government protest.

He had tweeted: “Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state! Join #Oct1stProtest #RevolutionNow.”

But responding, Burna Boy suggested that he did not want to die, saying: “Everybody is a Fela fan and supporter now that he is dead. Humans are so Funny, You politicians are ALL the same (especially in Nigeria) and Frankly, I don’t trust none of you. @YeleSowore.”

In his response to Burna boy’s reference that everyone has become Fela’s fan now that he had died, Sowore described himself as not just a Fela Fan but a member of his household. He asked Burna boy to ask Fela’s son, Seun Kuti. He explained that as a student leader in the 90’s, he met and hung out with Fela, also known as Abami Eda.
He advised Burna boy that if he wants to be Fela, he should be Fela and represent him to the core.

“@burnaboy I am not just one of the persons who you could describe as “Fela’s fan after he died.” I am a member of Fela’s household, ask @RealSeunKuti, as a student’s leader in the 90s I met and hung out with Abami Eda at home and the African shrine! If you want to be Fela be Fela”
