Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has called on residents of Abuja to join a planned protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration, declaring that the time has come for a revolution in Nigeria.

Sowore made the call on Monday while addressing his supporters at the Federal High Court in Abuja, following proceedings in a case filed against him by the Department of State Services (DSS) over his alleged description of President Tinubu as a criminal.

The activist announced that the “Tinubu Must Go rally” would begin in the nation’s capital on Tuesday, urging his supporters to mobilise friends, relatives and other residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the planned demonstration.

He expressed confidence that Nigerians were ready for a major political change, drawing comparisons with what he described as ongoing revolutions in France, Spain and other countries.

Addressing the crowd, Sowore said: “We have a little bit of time left before Tinubu regime becomes a thing of the past. This affliction shall never happen to us the second time.

“We are coming here tomorrow and we want you to mobilise everybody. When we leave here tomorrow, we will enter into the town. Our Tinubu Must Go rally will commence tomorrow.

“Invite your brothers and friends. Everybody in Abuja, come out tomorrow. We want to do this revolution once and for all. There is a revolution currently going on in France, Spain and other countries. Why can’t we do our own in Nigeria?

“Our own time has come and we are ready for them, they will soon be shocked that we are more ready than they are”.

The planned rally marks another move by Sowore to intensify his opposition to the Tinubu administration, with the activist calling on Abuja residents to turn out in large numbers for the protest.
