We will remain impartial and transparent in this election– OYSIEC Chairman.

The Chairman Oyo State Electoral Commission, Mr. Isiaka Olagunju (SAN) has assured that the commission will remain neutral, impartial, transparent and credible in the conduct of the election.

Mr. Isiaka Olagunju gave this assurance while addressing Journalist in a press conference on Friday 21st May 2021 at the OYSIEC office in Ibadan. He said that the commission will maintain their unbiased magnanimity in favour of all political parties and their candidates in the conduct of the election.

He recalled that the commission on the 15th February, 2021 has announced the notice and time tables in preparation to hold the election but due to unforeseen circumstances it was shifted to May 22nd, 2021

Mr. Olagunju said OYSIEC has recorded huge successes in preparation to conduct the election, noting that they have visited the 18 registered political parties, stakeholders, various NGOs to inform them of their readiness to hold the election on the 22nd of May and by so doing should endeavor to mobilize their people to participate enmasse in the election, cast vote for their preferred candidate and expect the vote counts.

He commended the efforts of the security operatives for their total committment and selfless service to making sure the environment is calm for the election at various locations especially the rural areas.

Mr. Isiaka while pouring encomiums on the security personnels also applauds the cooperation of leaders of all political parties including the chairman inter-party council for their peaceful conduct, supports, cooperation and meaningful advises for the election.

He said the election material has long departed from the commission to various locations where voting are going to take place.

The commission has also come out with a television station that is currently on various social media platforms to be able to monitor election in all the local Government Areas of the state, “this to show our willingness to quenched every form of malpractices that may want to occur in any locations and pulling units”.
