SOWORE’S HEARING TO RESUME TODAY- By Omeike, Udochi Adachuks

Trial of Omoyele Sowore, the convener of revolution now protest is expected to hold today after it was stalled on Monday due to the absence of the prosecution lawyer.
Omoyele Sowore was arrested on August 3, 2019, on allegations of treasonable felony. The Federal government accused him of deliberately inciting Nigerians against the government thus causing unrest in the polity.
In the meantime, the Federal high court sitting in Abuja fined the Federal government the sum of 200,000 naira because they had caused the court to adjourn hearing when it was not necessary while they wait for Aminu Halilu, the prosecution lawyer.
The Federal government has amended Sowore’s charges and has reduced it from seven to two count charges. The judge did not find this new development funny which was why the fine was slammed on the government. The prosecution lawyer is expected to pay the fine at the resumed hearing today.
