Court Grants Senator Ndume Bail

By Chinenye Festus:-

Senator Ali Ndume who has been in detention since Monday over his surety for former Pension Reforms Task Team Chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina, who had jumped bail was granted bail today, Friday.

The Senator representing Borno South Federal Constituency was detained at the Kuje Correctional Centre for his inability to provide the former Pension Boss, Maina.

The Justice who presided over the case, Justice Okon Abang said his decision for granting Ndume Bail was based on his record of good behavior in court.

Recall that Maina has not appeared in the Court since preceding his case started and this was what necessitated a bench ruling by Justice Abang on November 3rd that Ndume is Remanded until he fulfills his bail bond to forfeit N500 million to the Federal Government or sell the Senator’s property at Asokoro in order to recover the N500 million bond.
