Maintaining Focus as a Young Minister of the Gospel minister Bolanle Adebayo narrated how she started singing back then during her days in the boarding school the calling metamorphos her into full time gospel ministry when she joins choir at the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

She has been actively involved as a music minister for the past 23 years and still waxing strong, that’s because she adhere to the spiritual guidelines of her mother who caution her never to be a competitor but rather strive for the power of the Holy Spirit so that whenever she is under the unction of ministration the power of the Holy Spirit can descend on her congregation. Minister Bolanle is the founder of praise zone Ministries and she function ultimately with special renditions that attracts the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Using her experience in the power of the Holy Spirit to speak to the upcoming gospel ministers she said young people in the ministry battle with distractions on a daily basis because some of them do not possessed the spiritual impact they ought to.

As a young minister, it has become even more important than ever to either maintain focus in ministry, or stand the risk of depriving many of the Gospel.

Interacting with Newsieevent Min. Bolanle shared some advice concerning the subject matter, young ministers should pursue the priorities of the kingdom rather entertainment.

“I believe every minister, young or old, is called to a life of focus. We know that everyone’s work will be made manifest so there’s a sense of accountability that every minister, young or old, must have,” he said when asked about the importance of maintaining focus as a young minister of the Gospel.

In the light of this, she mentioned the habits young ministers can imbibe to help stay on course. They include the basic responsibility of a Christian to read their Bible and pray everyday, as well as having as role models ministers who have stayed the course in ministry for a long time.

She also added that on a general basis, every Christian is expected to have a fervent devotional life, not to mention a minister of the Gospel. Therefore, as a young minister, you should already be winning the battle against distraction in your devotional life before you take up spiritual responsibility.

Speaking on the perception of society about young ministers and how it affects their focus, Bolanle said that everyone who is a minister must have crucified the flesh, that is, they understand that they are to prioritize what God really thinks about them above the opinions of society.

In her opinion, the society’s definition of young ministers is wrong because of how abraptly some of them are. “Someone will look at me and call me a minister; yeah, that’sbbecause my focus is not to satisfy the flesh, but to availed the spirit man with worshiping th Father. Jesus did ministry and show us the example and direction to the Father. However, Bolanle’s ministry has spanned for the past 23 years and still creating positive impact when going on ministration, so if Jesus is the standard, and the standard is purity, holiness and justification of the Holy Spirit why should I minister outside the context? Aside from training, Holiness and soul winning is involved and that’s the focus agenda and it is tenable that any young minister who is not coming to test popularity or entertainment should strive to possess this virtues.

According to her, if society is advocating for young people to rise up and seek positions of leadership, religious or otherwise, they should not be surprised when they actually do so, but the young ministers have to signify righteousness in the ministrations.

She concluded with a profound piece of advice for young ministers just starting out, “Focus is your strategy. Don’t lose it. Develop the habit of staying the course even on the littlest things; it could be a 2-hour prayer session, or a giving pledge you’ve made. Whatever it is, teach yourself to shun distractions and keep your eyes on the ball. Souls depend on your consecration and concentration. Always remember that.”
